Weather
Costa Rica is a tropical country with two seasons – dry and wet. Temperature in the Central Valley is spring-like all year long. It’s colder at higher altitudes in the mountains and hotter in the lowlands and along the shore.

Currency
The native currency in Costa Rica is the Costa Rican Colon (CRC). US dollars and major credit cards are widely accepted.

Electricity
Most areas have electricity. The voltage in residential areas is 110v, with US Standard 2-prong outlets.

Time
Costa Rica is 6 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT -6), and does not observe Daylight Savings Time. The Costa Rica time is also consistent with Central Standard Time.

Languages
The native language in Costa Rica is Spanish.
